Best Haven site?

Hi all

I'm currently saving up a load of Tesco CC vouchers and I'd like to use them on a Haven holiday.

I've only been to Golden Sands which I thought was ok but in need of renovating. Mablethorpe also could do with knocking down and rebuilding! :rotfl:

Are there any newer sites? The pictures on the website always make it all look nice but then reality is often different.

I'm after something with plenty of activities and ideally a nice pool.

Any suggestions?

The old butlins sites have the best pools.
    Hafan-y-mor in Wales
Craig Tara near Ayr in Scotland.

I went to Hafan last August and it was pretty good. But there is little to do in the area if the weather is bad ( there is no big seaside resort anywhere near).
The best overall in my opinion is Primrose Valley . It is the largest - so has the most facilities i.e boating lake , 4 clubs and had a new pool complex last year. It is in a nice position above the beach and handy for Scarborough and Bridlington.

    Caistor is quite good too..

primrose valley IMHO is too big ,i much prefer blue dolphin or reighton sands
  • We like Golden Sands at Mablethorpe as its close to us and we take our tent for the odd weekends and it costs as little as £3 per pitch per night inc electricity. The evening entertainment is always good fun and the kids love it. Ok Mablethorpe is a bit behind the times but when the weather is nice the beach is fantastic very clean and the sand is well "Golden" We did once decided to go to a different Haven resort for a change and ended up at the one near Hastings can't remember what its called. It was awful the whole site overlooked a landfill site (honest is was literally in the field next door). And because of this the seagulls that flew overhead were huge and really scary (a bit like my mother in law but with wings and a beak) The evening entertainment was boring and one night there was a massive fight between 2 families in the end a minibus full of police in riot gear turned up to arrest them. Quiet shocking really, even so our kids seem to think it was the best entertainment of the weekend, but thats kids for you.

    hi
we have been to devon cliffs its nice with a health spa and entertainment is mainly right near shops play area so make sure you ask to be near the entertainment because its very cliffy steep hills to the caravan if your not. they have a lovely beach in exmouth as the one near the park was very steep to go down hubby and kids liked it but i didnt lol we went for 2 weeks but they repeated the same entertainment the following week so we went to exmouth quite a lot in exmouth you can go on a boat trip tescos nearby
primrose valley is fantastic swimming rowing boats quad bikes go carts but it is big and if you have a caravan near the swimming pool you have to walk about 10 mins because the shops and entertainment is the other side of the park but you can drive there in the evening if your not going to drink lovely beaches filey is only about 5 mins away in the car to get some shopping and gifts out of all the ones ive been to this in my opinion and my kids think this is the best
golden sands we liked this not many things to do but the entertainment was great upstairs(cant remember whats it called) nice shops and sandy beaches
    combe haven
we liked it but not much to do on the park we went 3 years ago there was an indoor/outdoor pool indoor ball pool and snooker/pool and roller skating
stony beach and not much to do or see outside of the park
    caister
we did like this small park but quite a lot to do ten pin bowling climbing wall sandy/stony beaches but quite nice
but in our opinion if you have all age children then primrose valley caters for all but i must say when we went it was one of the hottest weeks of the year so it was brill because loads of outside activities dont know if it would be if it was bad weather as there is not much inside to do but we went 4 years ago and they done some improvements last year tip: if you want to go dont go in a chalet as we thought we would try it for a change but it wasnt very clean so we always go in caravans now

    i hope this helps
