I have recently bought a Phillips MT2400 Desktop. Now I am not a IT whizz at all and I notice that my computer can play and record live TV.
The computer came with a cable which I believe I can conect from pc to tv or m,aybe my ariel socket. However it is only about 3ft long so it wont reach.
Can I by an extension? Or a longer cable as I dont want to have my PC sat right next to my television. I believe i am looking for a S-Video cable.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Looking at the spec on your PC it says you have a digital TV tuner built in, therefore all you need to do is connect your TV aerial to it, you can get aerial extention cables anywhere Argos, tescos, Do it all etc.
Assuming its a freeview tuner you may need an aerial upgrade depending on where you are. Supposidly there is also a remote control for the TV function.
I'm not sure why you think you need an S-Video cable, unless you wish to connect the output from the PC to your TV.
Also far be it from me stating the B!!! obvious but have you read the handbook? That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
Yeah, I did read the instructions, but they werent very heplful. SO, if I have got this right I can go to argos, buy an extension, plug it in the wall, plug the other end in the PC, and Hey presto...????Lightbulb moment - 29/01/2007

I got an ariel extension and it works fine! However, as my pc is in the living room i have to unplug the tv ariel and plug in the ariel for the pc to record.
So i went and bought a splitter, but this just mafde the reception worse!!
Anyone know what the problem may be..the splitter only cost £2.99Lightbulb moment - 29/01/2007

Hello, glad you had some success, the problem with a splitter is that itb does what it says and you loose half the signals power in the splitter. Back to Argos I'm afraid and get a distribution amplifier. One with two outputs will suffice, unless you want to connect to another TV.
Incidently have you got Sky, if so you can use the RF2 output to feed your PC.That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
Thanks for the help! I see argos have a 4-way one, which will be fine as I can have the another tv running of it as well!!
Thabks again!Lightbulb moment - 29/01/2007
