    Thanks, I was rather surprised at how good they looked on, I was expecting at least the first attempt to go terribly! Next I'm going to make some with that are closer to a french knicker style from a pattern on burdastyle once I redraft it to my size.

    If you mean Victorian style bloomers you could use a pyjama pattern & adjust the leg length to suit, the add lots of frilly lace.

    I worked in a knicker factory for many years making undies for M&S and other big stores. I soooooooo miss being able to buy some at 5 or 10p each when they were upwards of £10 in the store! Don't think I'll ever make my own now though working there put me off for life:D

    I want them, they're gorgeous! They look even better than shop bought ones.... you could make a few quid making them, I'd buy them.

    Thanks, I was thinking that too. Once I've learnt how to redraft the pattern to proper clothing sizes and got a sewing machine to speed things along I'm quite tempted to sell on ebay.

    Thanks, yes I had some pale pink cotton that was perfect for the lining, looks very pretty and doesn't show through.

    God the first time I ever heard the term going commando was on Friends!
