Took a while stitching by hand but I'm quite pleased with my first attempt. Going to draft my pattern smaller next time to make them a bit tighter as the lace gives a bit more than I'd anticipated but they work!Dum Spiro Spero0 -
They look lovely! No good for me though, I need big knickers to cover my bum!
Thanks, I was rather surprised at how good they looked on, I was expecting at least the first attempt to go terribly! Next I'm going to make some with that are closer to a french knicker style from a pattern on burdastyle once I redraft it to my size. The "Bloodlust" Clique - Morally equal to all. If you mean Victorian style bloomers you could use a pyjama pattern & adjust the leg length to suit, the add lots of frilly lace.
In the USA 'modest' clothing is gaining in interest, eg this site:

Well done Plushroom
I worked in a knicker factory for many years making undies for M&S and other big stores. I soooooooo miss being able to buy some at 5 or 10p each when they were upwards of £10 in the store! Don't think I'll ever make my own now though working there put me off for life:DI'm not a muggle...I'm just magically challenged0 -
You have done really well - they do look good.
I would love to know (only slightly off topic) WHY is 'going without' called 'going commando'?Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

I want them, they're gorgeous! They look even better than shop bought ones.... you could make a few quid making them, I'd buy them.0

They look gorgeous...did you put in some kind of cotton lining too?

Thanks, I was thinking that too. Once I've learnt how to redraft the pattern to proper clothing sizes and got a sewing machine to speed things along I'm quite tempted to sell on ebay. The "Bloodlust" Clique - Morally equal to all. Thanks, yes I had some pale pink cotton that was perfect for the lining, looks very pretty and doesn't show through.
God the first time I ever heard the term going commando was on Friends! The "Bloodlust" Clique - Morally equal to all.
