I am thinking of buying a gas ceramic hob possibly a hotpoint one anybody got any advice or should I stick with an electric ceramic hob. have a normal gas hob a present but previously had electric ceramic and loved it like ceramic as looks flush with work surface Don't know how expensive it might be to change fron gas to electric, we have electric cooker and fuse box is next door to kitchen. If gas ceramics are ok I would go with this option, but I know nothing about these hobs just seen them in kitchen show rooms. Any advice would be most welcome.

Well we have one of those and are about to rip it out and replace with a stainless steel one.
There are two problems with it
1) The pan supports do not give enough stability for large pans.
2) The glass is a real pain to keep clean.
When its clean it looks great, but it only stays that way until you use it, then its out with the Flash Orange, and kitchen towel...Why pay more than you have to?0 -
thanks squirrelz I did like the look of it but was concerned that it would not have enough support for sauceepans it looked like a bit of a balancing act you have confirmed my doubts. I will have to reconsider my options. Would rather not bother for looks as I have small children and would prefer pans to be safe. Thanks0

We've got a black gloss units, white,American Samsung fridge, glass mosaic tiles & quartz effect worktop (greyish colour) & black white floor tiles
So to keep the monochrome look, got this glass n gas hob http://www.electrolux.co.uk/products/XMLSTANDARDIMAGE/EHO03017.jpg
Yes it does clean well (my job) but the number of times I've caught a T towel under the pan rings & pulled them off, expecting a splinter n cracking sound.....
If you want to see this one in real life, try Wickes - about the only place we could, when we were looking.
