DO you find the value bread goes off very quickly?
We use Sainsbury's Basics White sliced, it seems to last *longer* than own brand or Hovis-branded-type bread (not by much admittedly, but still). 40p a loaf - not thick slice, but fine for toast, and the odd sandwich

I like Aldi for the cheap white bread. I think it about 45p, but have just started buying sainsburys basic wholemeal. Very nice.Anyone who lives within their means suffers from a lack of imagination:beer:

I get mine from Farmfoods, on a long term offer, any 2 Kingsmill loaves for £1.50 I get the Tasty Wholemeal Medium Sliced. I like Sainsburys value white loaf but can't find a better tasting wholemeal for cheaper.2025 - finally back comping after a stressful house move - send me fairy dust please!

We make our own - usually wholemeal and white combi woth added seeds and it is gorgeous, healthier and cheaper too. Highly recommend it as it contains LOADS less salt than shop bought bread.3 kids(DS1 6 Nov, DS2 8 Feb, DS3 24 Dec) a hubby and two cats - I love to save every penny I can!
