I have to say i agree with Wig, it's easy for a garage not to notice, they are bound to miss a few things on cars, if they they are sourcing one for you then no reason to worry.Wig wrote:Sounds like you got your answer.
No it's not a legal requirement, no there would be nothing you could do if the garage had decided to stick to their guns and ignore you.
Your garage was probably telling the truth that they did not notice, and they have acted with goldstar customer service as soon as they have found out you had no spare, sounds like a good garage/dealer to me. Your anger is therefore not required.0 -
I used to sell Citroens and picassos were particularly prone to spare whell theft. Motability customers were obliged to have a lock fitted to their vehicle. The C2 GT comes without a spare at all and just a can of spray.
Something else to look out for is that you have been supplied with a locking wheel nut key if you have alloy wheels. These come in the car from the factory but are removed by the dealer to stop theft while in their yard. it is all to easy to forget these when you hand over the car and my manager would not let me send one out by special delivery to my customer as it would cost too much (an attitute which means I no longer work there) These keys can also get mixed up so check you have one and that it fits before you get a puncture. The alternative is an angle grinder!!! Not pretty0 -
The Ford Ka is another one where the spare is loctaed in a cage beneath the boot and easy to steal just by bending the retaining rod.0

But then you could pick up a Ford KA and put it in your pocket! As if anyone would want one- LOL0

Nothing wrong the Ka. I removed the spare wheel from my previous car and bought two cans of tyre weld.Happy chappy0
