I have finaly booked a holiday to Cyprus for 10 days.
I have got a really good deal on the Coral Beach Hotel, £1000 saving on the Thomsons price, We have paid £1230 for a Jr Suite on half board and private taxi transfer and flights....I am well pleased.
We have been to the hotel before but we never went out and about so this time we intend to see some of the area.
Is there must sees? We are hiring a car for 2-3 days or maybe longer if the weather isnt too good.
Can you suggest some places to visit?
Also a suggestion of a good car hire firm in the area of Coral Bay
Thanks in advance

I was born in Cyprus and lived there when the island was invaded in 1974, the Famagusta post is a very sad indictment of how the situation is still unresolved but that is another matter.
There is Curium near Episkopi not far away, Aphrodites Rock near Limassol and also Tomb of the Kings in Paphos for historical visits but Mt Troodos is very nice for a day out and well worth the visit. Nicosia (capital) is there for the shopping but bear in mind that this is always the hottest place and needs to be done early in the morning or at sunset. They have some wonderful restuarants everywhere on the island so make sure that you go to the non-tourist areas to see and taste the lovely Cyprus. The mezes are great as is the Tahini sauces and the Ouzo (hic!).
Whatever happens, do try the areas that aren't touristy as you will meet wonderful people, taste lovely food and have a great holiday.
Time I went back really, where is that passport????0 -
Thanks loonygooner
We have been before but like I said we never moved much.
I love greek food and cant wait now its all booked up 1st March so only 5 bedtimes
I have started packing and hubby as started taking stuff out ...lol I agree with the yuk for Ouzo. I have never tried Tahini sauce so I will hunt that one out.
