Answering machine on home phone

Could someone pls explain why home phone suddenly start telling everyone that calls in that it can't receive any messages as the message box is full, knowing fully well that its a big lie.

I changed the phone set and thesame thing happened.

Do I have to pay for that? as it is silent on that link.

Are you talking about 1571 or your own phone that has an answer machine?

it will say you have reached the BT answer phone......what if I dont want the Bt answer phone just the phone's answering machine?

How do I remove BT Answer 1571 from my line?Please call our advisors on 0800 800 150 (Monday to Saturday 07:30 - 22:00, Sunday 09:00 to 18:00).

You need to dial 1571 and delete some of your messages, the computer will prompt you. You can tell if you have messages waiting as you will be getting an intermittent dial tone.
