I was watching an Amercian video on how to grout and it stressed the importance of sealing the whole lot once grouting done?
Is sealing needed?

If it's natural stone certainly, if it's porcelain unlikely even though some manufacturers suggest it.
There are grout sealants available if you're inclined to use them. Useful behind cookers and such but generally not necessary on wall tiling unless it's subject to high usage (shower etc).
Far more useful on flooring.0 -
Ive never used an additional sealant before, but.....
Well, I hope im not hijacking the thread here, but we're just tiling our shower in a stone mosaic tile. Im petrified about them leaking. Obviously we'll grout up etc but is there a sealant available to 'top it off'? I havent seen anything...
Thanks0 -

Firstly you should tank the shower area, this isn't option with mosaics, it's a necessity. If you don't it will leak eventually.
Search for BAL WP1 shower tanking kit on goggle, you'll find all you need to know.
As for sealant, I'd recommend Lithofin Stain Stop MN available HERE.
That company is Extensive, they are the main importers of Lithofin products which are head and shoulders above pretty much all other sealants.
Seal before you grout and after you grout. (once it's all dry of course).0
