Buying a used car - used a credit card for deposit - do i need to HPI?
Hi there,
I've put a deposit down on a used car (from a car supermarket) using my mastercard and am now wondering if it's worth me HPI checking the car as, from what I've read on here (http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/shopping/section75-protect-your-purchases) the whole purchase should be insured by my card company (even though I'll be paying the remaining balance upon delivery using cash or debit card).
I suppose I'm wondering two things - firstly does section 75 definitely apply to a car purchase, and secondly could section 75 be applied to a car purchase when the car is later found to be the subject of an outstanding debt?
Thanks for any help...

Get the HPI done, then you know of any problems now and don't have to try and fight the dealer/ car company later when your car is taken off you by the police.
You should at least see the HPI the dealer has done.0 -
I took your advice and did the HPI (with mycarcheck.com) and it seems to be legitimate (no outstanding debt and mileage matches too!).
Many thanks!
