my memory (not the most reliable) but as a kid I was getting 13% with the co-op, that was around 20 years ago when I was in my early teens and started to get financially savy about spreading money around accounts.Negative equity of £100k. including the mortgage0

The lowest ever interest rate since the Bank of England was founded in 1694 is right now. The previous record was 2%.0

Yep - I know its difficult for first time buyers lately but this thread reminds me that in 1978/9 mortgage interest rates were 15% (for certain) ! And I think you could get 10% on cash deposits in 1998 (from memory)...0
