Anyone got one? Are they any good? Are they easy to install?
Got an old alarm system which needs updating. I rang a company out of the yellowpages today, but he says I'd be better with wireless as I've got flooring down upstairs and he reckons he won't be able to get at the wiring.
Anyway he quoted me a wireless system for £490 with the siren/control panel/3 door sensors and a pir.
I've had a look on ebay and can get Freidland/Yale system for less than £200 quid. They look easy enough to fit, but things normally do until they arrive in the box.

Interesting the Yale one seems to last for 2 years without a battery change, I didn't expect that.
We were bungled (I say bungled as the burglers have now been arrested!) a few weeks ago, and have thought about a wireless system as we have also just finished plastering and decorating downstairs. Has anyone had experience of these (or other) alarms with a dog? I've seen special pet sensitive alarms, just wondering how a normal one reacts to a dog, hey are quite expensive and don't know if they are necessary. Thought you may be able to "aim" the normal PIR's above the dog???

I have no knowledge of the wireless system, i have a wired one.
An idea is that if your house a 2 storey have a keypad upstairs so you can set the alarm on before you go to bed so the alarm will go off instant rather than having the seconds delay!!0
