Garden Fencing

HI There

We have just had a quote for garden fencing for £200 supply & fit.
This quote is for 24ft of 5ft feather edge board and gravel boards. Is this a good price. We live in the Cardiff area.

Any help would be appreciated. Many thanks

  • Seems OK, but you need to go with concrete posts and gravel boards.
  • thanks Cheggers - we already have the concrete posts in situ.

That sounds like they are simply replacing 4 panels by slotting them into the posts which are already in situ http://www.diydata.com/projects/woodenfence/fencepanel.htmu. Its a fairly easy DIY job
Best thing is to take a look at your local diy and see how much they charge for 4 panels and 4 gravel boards. The difference between that and the £200 is what they are charging for about 2hrs labour.

I agree with coolagarry - it's not difficult to fit a fence if the posts are already there. I presume they're being made to fit the gap (rather than being off-the-shelf at B&Q), but you could always ask your supplier how much it would cost for supply-only.
  • Thanks all for your advice - we had the fencing put up yesterday and we are pleased with the result - hubby couldnt do it as he has arthrtis in his hands.
