hello all,
my other half set up her business last may and bought herself a van from a garage. today it looks like the gearbox has gone. she had a token gesture warranty but she has only done 2000 miles in it (the van has done 60k miles). do you think there is anything i can do to chase up the garage for her? is it a lost cause or should i try anyway
thanks
matt

try posting on motoring forum on MSE as well.
P.S You will need to let people know how old the van is as it can make a difference to your rights0 -
ok thanks for the reply, i didnt realise. the van is 52 plate. (2002) so it was approx 5 yrs old when we got it.0

Did you buy from a dealer? Did you buy it as a company or as a personal purchase?0

she bought it as a company purchase although i paid for it with my card. it was from a dealer but not a main dealer, just local van dealer.
thanks0 -
Depends on the terms of the warranty. What sort of warranty did they give you?
If it has expired then I doubt you have any comeback on a van you purchased 10 months ago. The fact it has only done 2000 miles since you bought it is irrelevent.
It's always worth a phone call to see if the garage will offer you anything but I very much doubt they will.0
