last night at 5pm, although we still had to wait on the courier with the tranfers deeds untill 7 pm
So complete on the sale Monday and complete on my purchase Tuesday, wednesday I get my furniture, hopefully this time next week I will be back online
Started this journey Nov 6th - 16 weeks ago. Its been stressfull to say the least but hopefully all plain sailing from now on.
For all those starting the journey - one word of advice. Pick your solicitor well - try for a personal reccomendation, it will save you no end of grief in the long run. And keep in touch, ring and ask where they are at and is there anything you need/can do to help move things along. Keep your file on his/her desk dont ever hear the words "just got to get your file out"
And keep in touch with your buyers and try to keep it friendly - they also can push their end.
Ive promised myself I shall never tie a sale and purchase together again after this experience - but time will tell
Good luck all those either starting or are in the midsts of this madness called house buying

Congratulations!!!
Hope all the packing and moving goes well.
Fingers crossed I will be in the same position as you in a month or so's time - we have decided to proceed with the sale of our house and rent/live with parents (horror!!) temporarily as we are having real trouble finding anywhere to buy. We are relocating from London to Oxforfd and have jobs starting in Oxford in a few months time though so really need to get rid of our London house beforehand. At least once the sale has gone through we will be in a really stong position as buyers.

Congrats Jenny W, time for a glass of wine and a small sigh of relief. That didn't take long at all!

We agreed the date at time of having offer accepted - getting everyone and everything organised in time was the hard bit
