Time to ditch Staywarm?

My parents have been on the staywarm tariff for the last year paying £85 pcm. For the next year the price has increased to £131 pcm - thats a whopping £46pcm when gas prices are falling.

I am not sure whether their usage is massive - 5377 KWh electricity and 15914 kwh of gas but on Uswitch the annual savings were £494.

I am surprised Staywarm has hiked their prices up so much. Are there any other schemes like Staywarm from other suppliers?

We use about 5000kwh ele and 31000kwh gas and pay about £1600 a year - about £133 a month. If your parents can afford to pay about £100 a month and can monitor their usage so they don't exceed the figures you gave, they might be better on a normal tariff.
  • the online tariff would be cheaper for them, their gas usage is lower than avg (20,500kwh) and their elect is higher (3,300kwh).

Try Scottish & Southern's Easywarm tariff that works the same as staywarm, not sure if its competitive though.

You are doing your own calculations and not relying on what the Uswitch site is saying you can save arent you?
    Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently! ;)
