Auction of Contents of Wedding Shop

This is more for couples living in South Birmingham - I have just been told about an auction that is taking place tonight at Arrow Auctions in Redditch, it starts at 6pm and is part of a general sale but it is the contents of a wedding shop including bridal gowns, mens suits, bridal shoes etc. etc.

Just thought I would mention it.

Aargh, I know exactly where this is! (used to live near Redditch). At work in Nottingham at the moment but trying to figure out if I can get there in an hour. You're right about the stock Horace. Here's a link to the list of lots for tonight's auction: http://www.arrowauctions.co.uk/lots.html

Didn't think I could get there in time  Unfortunately I already have my dress ordered and I'm not wearing a veil. Thought it would best be avoided as I may well have ended up spending money on a boxful of cravats I didn't want or need!

Someone's going to get a bargain though!

Well I am currently shaking and am in a state of shock, my mate drove me there as I cannot see in the dark:rolleyes: the dresses weren't much to right home about to be honest with you and I didnt stay for them but I had my eye on 3 boxes which claimed to contain veils and petticoats so I thought if I could get them relatively cheaply then I could always sell the things on ebay. Well I did buy them, the first box I won for £18 and then I was told that I could have the other 2 boxes for the same amount - so muggins said yes. I have now emptied out said boxes and sure there are some petticoats (one hooped one looks like it has been worn because it has a muddy bottom:rolleyes: ) but the boxes contained wraps, beaded boddices, skirts, lace coats and 3 designer gowns:eek: The value of the contents is £15500 so it looks like ebay here I come:eek: I cannot sit on my sofa, I cannot see the telly because I am surrounded by gowns etc.

The top hats went for a fiver - it was absolutely criminal.

I havent eaten any dinner and I am getting slowly drunk on a bottle of straweberry beer that I found in the fridge:D
  • Horace thats great news well done!! Sure you will do very well with those on ebay!

I thought it was a nightmare but it wasnt because the stuff is still there, I had another look through and I have 4 gowns - one of which has an oily mark on the front (it is obvious because its black and the dress is white), now I need to take it to the cleaners to see if they can get the mark out without steaming the dress.

I wasn't expecting dresses or boddices - I was after tiaras which funnily enough they didnt have.

Its going to be a very busy day today, I can feel it in my bones:D

Wow! Well, if anyone is well placed to know what the stuff is worth and how to market it, then it's you. Good luck in reclaiming your sofa! :D
