bank deposite showing as double

today i put 500 pounds into my sisters bank account over the counter at lollydstsb( she had money stolen from a till at her pub she manages and she was gonna lose the pub if it wasnt put back but thats a whole other story lol)

she then went to the bank to withdraw the money and it says a credit of 1000. i only but 500 in so there has been a mistake somewhere, as much as it is a lovely thought the bank giving her 500:rotfl: we know she cant spend it as it isnt hers .

just wanted to check will the bank realise when they cash up 2nite and take it out of her account soon. or will she physically have to tell them whats happened.
thanks for u help

  • The bank will realise i would have thought, it maybe worth while phoning them to let them know in case they make a mistake the other way and debit 1000 back from the account.

Maybe the £1,000 is inclusive of a £500 overdraft facility?

They'll figure out their error the next time they balance the till and it's £500 down.

Don't spend the money, whatever you do.

"Just a thought" was there £500 in the pub till and the bank cashier was the
thief. They felt so guilty and gave it all back.....
