If you've been thinking of buying a senior railcard then check to see if you could qualify for a disabled person's railcard instead. One of the elegibility criteria for a disabled card is 'wears a hearing aid' you have to provide evidence in the form of your NHS hearing aid battery book.
Senior Railcards cost £24 to get 1/3 off, but a couple would need one card each.
Disabled Person's Railcards cost £18 and enable the holder and an accompanying adult to each get 1/3 off fares.
So there's quite a saving in cost.

I get 30% on my railcard, it depends on the street where I live, my street seems to qualify for the discount for the over 60's. I get the discount only on chiltern railways. I live in Bucks, I guess it depends on local authority.0

Senior Railcards and Disabled Person's Railcards are a national scheme. They have no connection to any local authority.0
