For instance, a high megapixel camera (8MB+) writing to the card in RAW mode will be appreciably quicker with high speed media. And you'll be ready to take the next shot sooner which might be crucial.

And I suspect you will notice a speed difference when you are copying data from the memory card to your PC with a high speed card. This is n't of great importance to most people - but if you were using the SD card in an MP3 player and regularly change the tracks on the card it would be better to have a faster card.0
