You have got to be kidding me!
Tell them to get on their bikes or you're pulling out.
Why would your mortgage offer not stand past April? Surely alarm bells are ringing in your ears?
They must think you're a right pair of mugs."One day I realised that when you are lying in your grave, it's no good saying, "I was too shy, too frightened."
Because by then you've blown your chances. That's it."0 -
Think about what will happen if the month turns into 6 weeks, that then turns into 2 months that then turns into.......Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0

the OH was almost ready to deck our vendors when they were 6 hours late moving out of the first house we bought... Seems they only decided to start packing on the morning of completion...0

I had this too! I was fuming! The money had gone at about 10.10am so mega quickly considering business banking opens at 10am. The vendors were being horrid to not only us but their solicitor, our solicitor and the EA. They said they were in the house for 30 years and wasn't going to rush! Luckily we were doing the actual moving the following day but their cheek amazed me! It's not like they didn't know they were meant to be moving. We finally got the keys at around 6.30pm, 7 hours after orginally agreed :A

Good grief, I would NEVER DREAM of doing that... I would be out (and everything professionally cleaned) a couple of days before completion...
There are definitely "all sorts" in this world

I'm with the others, talk it through with your solicitor but I'd tell them to stick to the date or pull out.0

I wished I'd have had a OH to deck my FTB vendors! I generously and stuipidly agreed that although completion was on the Friday that we would exchange keys Saturday morning, not realising that would be when vendor decided to start packing!0 -
Call their bluff hun. They're not going to want to lose the sale (Chances are they will 'lose out' financially more than you. Don't let the fact that you will lose your mortgage offer influence you (hard as it will be). If you stand your ground I'm sure they'll manage to find a solution - it's their problem after all not yours.
I agree with everyone else that their proposed plan sounds like a legal minefield/potential nightmare waiting to happen and should best be avoided.
Good luck with the move.Make a list of important things to do today. At the top, put 'eat chocolate'. Now, you'll get at least one thing done today.

Thanks for your views everyone, that vacant possetion on completion comment was something I hadn't thought about. My solicitor said she will ask the lenders this if we're progressing with this deal.
Solicitors are trying to get a fixed date and are asuring me that everything will be legally water tight.
For the moment we're just waiting around, before we make any decisions to see what the sellers say about a definate date.
I'm swaying more towards pulling out if they wont move out end of april.
Regarding our mortgage offer, its only valid for 90 days and they can't just renew it, cause since we were accepted they dont do this offer anymore.
I feel like there treating us like a pair of mugs cause we're first time buyers.0 -
Keep looking for other properties while this is being sorted out. If you find anything then walk away from this one0
