Paypal payment 'being processed' - how to solve?

I bough an item on Ebay on Friday, and paid by Paypal straightaway. Payment was via my credit card. I have bought and sold other items using the same method since then with no problem.

However, this first item is showing as "Your 13/03/09 payment is being processed through Paypal" with a little egg timer icon, rather than "Paid". When I check the status of the payment on Paypal, it says that the payment is "unclaimed" and "The recipient of this payment is Unregistered".

I'm confused by this, as the seller has sold other things on Ebay, and she is also bemused by this message (I have emailed her to see if we can sort this out).

What's going wrong? And how do I or the seller sort it out?

I just want to pay for and receive my nice Monsoon top!!!

Many thanks for any help.

:D

Did you accidently pay by e-cheque? That happened to me once. If you did that's why it would take a while.

Sounds to me like they've given you the wrong paypal email address. Are they a newbie?

Nope. Paid by credit card, and it has been deducted from my credit card too (acording to PP status).

That was my first thought too, so the first thing I checked.

    Very frustrating!

  • Double check the Paypal address with the seller if you haven't already. I had this problem before and it turned out that my seller had mistyped their Paypal address.

If they are new I would suggest this is a case of a seller trying to sell with a basic paypal account where card payments are not accepted without being claimed. If that is the case then the seller must upgrade to a full paypal account to claim the payment.
