Can computer harm kitten?

I am really not sure where to post this, so apologies if this is too ridiculous to be a techie question.
I have a young kitten. When he is starting to chill out he likes to sit on my small computer table right in front of the monitor. Sometimes he bats MSE a few times, altough he prefers something with a bit more action. Is it harming him being in such close contact with the computer?

no ........ the x-rays (CRT's) shouldn't hurt him? TFT's are x-ray free if you are really worried.Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0

I'm not sure if you're taking the p or not ..... sorry if you're not, how about just swatting him off the table or put an old blanket under the table for him to lie on???0

Is there any hair loss yet.??

Thankfully no hair loss. Not taking the p -just a daft woman, humour me.
He has a cat bed behind my chair and next to the radiator. I don't want to swat him down because I am out at work all day and feel he needs the attention in the evenings. I spend too much time on MSE and I guess this how he gets attention then.0 -

Yes, if it falls on it, could be some serious damage0

That link is brilliant! At last I know that a yellowhammer doesn't say "a little bit of bread and no cheese", no wonder I thought I never heard one before. The dog was interested in the tawny owl. :rotfl:StephenB wrote:Torgwen..........

No but kittens can harm your PC, one of mine chewed through a speaker lead and left me with mono sound, and I'd covered most of the wires with those cable tidy tubes from Ikea.
Time before he did the same with the telephone lead to the Sky box.
.... and they both lke nothing better than sitting between me and the monitor trying to bat the mouse pinter.
You have to love them. That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
its not the best idea to allow the cat behind the computer where all the cables are. I've given myself some nasty static shocks that would not be very nice for a kitten. Cats can also hear electricity(!) they can hear the 50Hz buzzzzzzzzzzzz of the mains plugs and that can't be too fun for them either.Come to my garden in South Bucks and i'll find you a wasp...0
