You have missed what I was asking you for. A link to back up your 'statement' on what PineCone do, and do not allow. I can't find it mentioned anywhere in my PineCone handbook that you must not discuss the actual company...just that you must not discuss the products you are testing.

It is usual, if you make a statement of fact, to back it up with fact.......

This is getting totally out of hand. Your comment appears to imply that every statement anyone makes must be backed up with some sort of audit trail to confirm that statement ! Thats totally OTT.

I can't give you a link, I haven't even got a Pinecone handbook and have never had one in all the years I have worked for them. However, I have certainly had the occasional 'general' email reminding me (and everyone else) of the confidentiality clauses including not posting links on websites. If you look back a few posts I think this has been confirmed by another 'poster' (the bit about links I mean).

Seeing as you appear to want evidence I will email Pinecone and see what they say. I will tell you the result either way - even if I'm wrong !

I think MSE actually have a rule about what you can and can't post about Pinecone don't they? Wasn't there a bit of a to-do the other year where Pinecone were getting jumpy with MSE about some of the things that were being posted? Likewise there was something to do with Sainsburys as well... I'm going back some time here, mind...

No...not every statement everyone makes.....just your particular statement about PineCone.

I think you should calm down a bit... :rolleyes: I was merely pointing out if you tell people on here they will be kicked out of PineCone for posting a link, then surely you should be able to back it up so we all know it is not just your opinion. Seeing as how loads of MSE posters have indeed posted links, in this, and numerous other threads for a very long time now. (None of whom will be particularly happy with you emailing PineCone to highlight this forum...which I hope you did not do!)

And if I am wrong...then I will apologise.

I don't need to calm down - I'm not the one who is bothered by this, its a couple of others who seem to have got worked up just because I posted a friendly warning. I don't see why my comment should need any more backing up than anybody else's comments, if nobody wants to take any notice of my warning then thats up to them and no problem at all to me. It is my opinion - but its based on what Pinecone have said in the past. I find it patronising that you keep telling me to calm down etc.

And, seeing as you asked for evidence to back up my comment, you can hardly complain if I ask Pinecone about it ! You asked me to indicate where.when Pinecone publisied this rule and Pinecone are the only ones who can answer that. I have already asked Pinecone for their comments but, credit me with some sense, I haven't been daft enough to explain why I am asking ! My enquiry was couched in general terms with no names, websites, forums or anything else mentioned which could lead back to anyone on here. I saw enough of the problems with that a couple of years ago !

Funny though, you don't believe my 'warning' about links yet you now seem worried that Pinecone might throw a wobbly !

PS I don't think I said people WOULD be kicked off - just that they could be if Pinecone find out.
