Redundancy Cheque

HI

I have just received my redundandcy cheque and I am appealing against it, I know I will gain nothing but after 20 years of loyal service but the way I have been treated is awful. Can I bank my cheque even though I am appealing - or would this mean that I have accepted the fact that I have been made redundant.

Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated

Thank you

We really need more details. Isnt it enough, how much is it, how old are you and why are you appealing.

    Hi

Im 41, got statutory, been there 20 years, not appealing against the payment because I know that is all I am entitled to, I am appealing about the fact that I was given the other persons scoring matrix as well as my own before I even went to the first consultation meeting, so it was a done deal - 2 the people who scored me do not even know what job i do, and have given me 1's for jobs i did for years before they even joined the company, appealing because in the 1st consultation i was told that ****** had been given the job because blah blah blah, thought it couldnt be decided until i had given my views - another blunder, its pointless because the person i have to appeal to is the MD - who is one of the people who did the scoring - but I just want him to have to sit in front of me - yes I know i sound bitter but I had a serious accident a year ago, and was off work for a year in and out of hospital, only just got back into the swing of it and ooops im out of a job. Also appealing because I know for a fact the girl who got my job is paid in an unauthodox manner as well !!

I can understand you feeling bitter. If you are going to appeal do it in a professional manner and dont at any point let your bitternes show through.

On the other hand, if you really think its pointless stop the bitterness now, put a full stop to it and move on. You can then (peacefully) get on with the rest of your life.

Its really true that 'what goes around comes around' you just have to wait.

Whatever you decide - good luck to you.
