    I'll try it this week!

Are you going to try it too :D ?

Yes. I've just run out of shampoo anyway - I figure a week's trial won't do much harm and it's another 6 weeks till my highlights are due.

I sat and read the back of the bottle and was surprised to see all the things that the longhair community warned about were in it. I thought the Herbal Essences range was supposed to be more organic & healthier.
Still wish I could buy a TARDIS instead of a house!

SLS is in everything. I've use aqueous cream a lot because it's supposedly pure and it's in there as well ... yikes!

Do you have any idea what these things are like for sensitive skin. I ended up with eczema on my scalp from shampoo so am now prescribed polytar but would be interested in this as an alternative.

Susan, my daughter has found the only shampoo that doesn't irritate her scalp is Superdrug's Fragrance Free one with aloe vera. It's only about 80p for a big bottle, so might be worth a try particularly if you don't want to use Polytar indefinitely.

I'll let you know - I get eczema up there as well and I can't stand the smell of the polytar.

I've just tried it out. It takes a bit of getting used to, working with the paste and not getting a lather. Same with the vinegar, it takes a bit of practice getting the coverage because it is runny. I'm letting it airdry now and so far my hair DOESN'T smell like an MSE OS microfibre cloth!

Apparently, egg yolk makes an excellent hair conditioner, used about once a week, while the egg white makes a wonderful face mask and tightens the skin.

Just don't rinse with hot water or it'll all cook on you!
Be careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.

I remember seeing the Egg Yolk conditioner tried on the 1940s house program (channel 4?). Her hair went all solid and the ends coudl be snapped off. Mind you IIRC she was making life hard for herself all round.

When I went swimming regularly I used to deeptreat my hair twice a week with an egg/honey/olive oil hairmask. Mix one egg yolk with a tablespoon of honey and a tablespoon of olive oil, then very gently warm up au bain marie. Section hair and apply the treatment with one of those flat brushes that hairdressers use for streaks. It wil go quite hard if you leave it for a while but not so that it breaks your hair!
