Hi all, can anyone help me with finding a provider for Permanent Health Insurance?
I have used an online service but what they came back with wasn't quite what I was after.
Thanks for any assistance.

- What I'm actually after is an FSA/Comparison service with an upfront fee rather than a monthly premium on top (Like Cavendish does for life Assurance).
- One with the option for unemployment cover.
Thanks for any assistance.

Er, thanks (I think).
iProtect do 'Lifestyle Protection Insurance' which is for illness, accident and unemployment - is this not the right sort of product?Money can't buy friends, but it can get you a better class of enemy - Spike Milligan.0 -
PHI is jsut for health. It pays out an income until retirement if you can't work for health reasons.
What you are talking about is not just a PHI policy.
It's ASU (accident, sickness and unemployment) so it's more than just PHI.
Lots of independent financial advisiors will work on a fee rather than commission basis.
Why don't you speak to an IFA?
They might know stuff like how good the company is at paying out, which you won't get from a price comparison site.0 -
Ah, I see, is there somewhere specific I should look for a list of reputable IFA's? It's all making my brain melt a bit at the moment so I think I definetly (never could spell that word) need assistance.Money can't buy friends, but it can get you a better class of enemy - Spike Milligan.0

Wont exist. IFAs are still mostly a cottage industry and there is no way to have a list of the tens of thousands out there based on qualify. However, IFAs do only account for 2% of complaints at the FOS (only a 1/3rd of which are upheld) despite doing the majority of transactions. So, statistically, you are unlikely to find an unreputable one.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0 -
The best way is to get a personal recommendation from friends, family, relatives, colleagues, neighbours etc.0
