well what are we all doing today?
several things are good about today:
sunny
blue sky
off out to friends for sunday late lunch in a short while
have contributed to meal by making lemon meringue pie which i would give an 8 /10 mark and 18 yorshire puds which i have yet to score as not sure.. i think they will get a 9/10.
now i must confess .. i am probably the worst cook in world. it stresses me to the point of tears, makes me feel inadequate and feeble. when ccooking i know that things are ready when they are burnt... yeah yeah.. see my problem?
i always promised my self a proper cookery course.. hmmm think this will never happen.
i envy those who can cook - have been watching lorraine and ainslie on gmtv and he makes it look easy..Highest Debt £581,000 Nov 08 and now owe nothing! yes really! I have learnt my lesson the hard way!

Hi MrsCMR
Just made a mistake and went to Sainsburys before lunch. Big mistake - £100 trolley later including loads of goodies AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH! The remaining £50 shopping budget just got blown!!!
Hope you enjoyed your lunch. It is blue sky here but soooooooo cold! There are times when parenthood seems nothing but feeding the mouth that bites you Peter De VriesDebt free by 40 (27/11/2016)0 -
Hope you had a nice lunch with your friend. I love Lemon Meringue pie.
I hate cooking, doing it at school put me off, I'm not good at practical things as it is (was always better using my brain than my hands). Anyway, at school we used to get an hour and 20 minutes to do a main meal, the people who hadn't bought their ingredients used to sit down the other end of the long class, one end had the cookers etc and the other tables. The teacher used to leave us to it and was always down the end with the kids who weren't cooking and who were not behaving.
I remember one day, shouting at the top of my voice 'I can't do it!!' this after having asked the teacher for help a few times.
So now I don't cook very often, I might do a chicken casserole or cook a joint of meat, but the meat always ends up tough and chewy, I don't know why, maybe our cooker is no good as it's not always been like that.
My mum is a good cook, she had the chance once to go to Catering College but as her dad died when she was 12 and she had 3 younger brothers she chose to go and get a job instead to help my Nan out with money.
Anyway, hope you have had a good day. Roll on tomorrow, will hopefully get a call about my Endowment, I want to sell it ASAP.Sealed Pot Challenge #0160 -
That has reminded me, when my brother did cooking, he did a shepherds pie once, when he bought it home the potato was on the bottom and the mince on the top. Don't think he liked cooking much either.Sealed Pot Challenge #0160
