Question on the 6 year re-claiming limit

When does the 6 year limit for reclaiming past charges go from?
Do you have to go back 6 years from now? So March 2003 - March 2009?
or
Is it 6 years from when the test case began and all reclaiming actions were frozen (I think in July 2007) so July 2001 - July 2007?

I think it's 6 years from now.
This is because my hardship claim was approved (over the phone) and I was expecting a letter, but now I have been told that, because my claim was put in earlier (I first claimed in 2007) they have to recalculate. That means they are going back 8 years for me.0 -
I'm sure that I read in Martins column in the News of the World recently that the 6 year limit is from when all claims were put on hold back in 2007, (therefore you could go back to 2001). But I've since binned the newspaper so I was looking for some clarification on this.0

You can claim back from the present day to July 2001.0

Thank you, so it is from the date of the stay.
Yes, six years from the date of the stay and any time which has passed since then.
So if you were claiming from today it would be 26th May 2009 through to 6 years before cases were frozen thus 26th May 2009 - 26th July 2001 (or whatever the exact date was, its escaped me at the moment).0 -
It's only 5 years in Scotland. Just incase.0
