How to Beat Npowers Gas Sculpting and Get Cheaper Gas

Npower was slater a while ago for a mistake in their gas sculpting policy. For those that don't know npower charge more KWH's at the higher rate in the winter when you use it most. A bit sneaky but this means you do get the benifit of cheaper gas in the summer.

So heres a way to make the most of this. This works well for those who use gas in the summer, so people who cook with gas etc.

From the months april to sept ask to be on npowers STANDARD gas tariff. Then when winter comes along october/november time ask to be put on there SOL14 tariff. Sign OnLine 14 has a quarterly charge and then a lower unit rate. So in the winter when you use loads of gas it works out alot cheaper.

The only catch is that you have to be on monthly direct debt to be on SOL14, but if you have both Gas and Electric from them on direct debt you get £100 credet every year anyway!

Then in the summer months again switch back to STANDARD Gas so your not wasting money on quartly standing charges.

Also at the minute if you sign up to npower you can get £50 bonus if you stay with them for a year. But you got to ask for it!
