BT Help Please ..... !!!

My contract ends in April (Unlimited Broadband & Calls Anytime) so i phoned BT up to see what they would offer.
I phoned Friday 6th March & spoke with a member of the retention team & we agreed the price & i requested the new agreement in writing before the contract started (a week later)
Nothing in writing turned up by the following Thursday, so rang retention team again who suggested that no order had been put thru & no record of my conversation :mad: .... anyway ran through the scenario again, agreed the prices & she offered a new black hub to be delivered next day, with written confirmation of the contract to follow either by email or post before 19th March when this contract would start.

The hub turned up ok the following day, but i get a call from BT Broadband resolution department tonight stating that a problem had been forwarded to them to be resolved ... i explained that no problems as far as i know & that i was waiting for confirmation of new contract. After coughing & spluttering, the broadband price quoted seems to be incorrect, the telephone price plan & line rental also seems to be incorrect. I said i wasnt happy & that i wanted an email confirming exactly what they are offering.
I'm not holding my breath for anything in writing & dont really know where to go from here. I dont want to fall into the rolling contract trap for another year, so should i cancel ?? ... have i a chance of getting something in writing ??

Any advice appreciated folks
