voluntary redundancy

I have been offered voluntary redundancy at work. I can apply for new roles however, they would be a lot more stressful (longer hours etc and with 2 small children. not viable), so i would like to take it. I would recieve all my redundancy at once and it would be less than 10k. Would i be able to claim JSA or a tax credit???
My Partner earns around 6k profit per year (self Employed) and we live in a council home.
Can anyone offer any advice?
