Help Anyone know anything about the boarding allowance?

Hi at present my son is at boarding school has been there for 2 terms and i understand that once he has shown commitment on third term which will be sept he can become a day pupil.
I hate emailing ceas as they are so patrionsing wondered if anyone can tell me what i do or do i just let the school know or do i have to go through ceas to change to a day pupil my husband is away on a course at mo and dosent have time to look into it.:confused: This is my first post so i hope this is ok to ask....

    Yes you are right you have to let both CEAS and the school know. Let the school know asap as they often require a full terms notice. You also need to make sure they will be able to have you son back as a boarder if you got posted away. I am sure you know that as you are claiming BSA you have to be mobile and move with your husband on posting. We have claimed BSA since 2001, first for our son who went all through to upper 6th form and loved it and now for our daughter. However she now wants to leave and we have been through the process of removing her at the end of this school year. The appeals process s lengthy and difficult requiring reams of letters from both us and the school to support our decision.

    I am undecided with our young son and will make a decision when he gets to year 6. One thing having children going to boarding school has done is make you value the standard of education they get. So much so we started DS2 in private school from reception at our own expense.
