in Credit cards
a young mate of mine lives with his parents and recently got into debt of over 5k.
basically nothing in the house belongs to him as his parents owns all the stuff.
can bailiffs still come down and take stuff not in his name?

No!
It is unlikely the bailiffs would be called anyway. Your mate should really go to citizens advice or a debt charity and negotiate with his creditors.
