Hi Gang
Been tarting for years and things dont look as rosie as they did 3 years ago. But i need to know about cash back cards.
I have a Amex Platinum but struggle to spend upto £9000 i spend about £6500 so only get 1%.
I also have a Conran Card which pays about 1% but this is accepted all over.
I also have a Egg Card for SBT and the annual free 0% for 5 months.
Question is it really worth having the Platinum card i cannot see me ever getting it to £9000 to get my 2%.
Also Martin mention this is other Egg card is better than the Conran but is it a SBT and would i get 5 months @ 0%.
Not sure what my best option is! any ideas please

Might be worth getting an Egg money card, although how long the 1% cash back will last who knows.
Certainly if you shop at any of the retailers Egg has deals with the extra 'instant cashback' might be useful for you?
American Express is the only one likely to pay high rates of cashback long term because it charges retailers much more in fees to accept the card. This is why it isn't accepted everywhere and sometimes you may get asked for an alternative card.

So are u saying keep my Amex card?
Also is the Egg Money Card different to the one i have ??I say what I like, I like what I say!0 -
IMO, there is no point in using Amex Platinum if you spend less then £9000 p.a. on it. Ask them to reduce the credit limit and keep it as a souvenir. AFAIK this card doesn't charge annual fee as Amex Blue.Thorrrr wrote:So are u saying keep my Amex card?
Egg Card - find out moreAlso is the Egg Money Card different to the one i have ??

Egg Money - find out more

Main differences is that Egg Card pays only 0.1% cashback and doesn't pay 4% AER on positive (credit) balance.0
