In between Jobs - when to apply?

Hi there.
I am due to start a new job on March 1st and would like to transfer two existing 0% interest free balances onto a new 0% deal in the next few days.
I am looking at either the Lloyds (9 month deal) or the Halifax One Card (12 months)
Obviously, I am "out of work" at present - having taken a week off between jobs - should I state that I am working on any application!?!, as technically I am although I will have a regular income!
I have also seen that it is now common that the lenders are charging a balance fee transfer fee per balance - so I assume I should transfer all my balances onto one card and then make one single balance transfer?
Thanks
SJ

I have just finished unpaid mat leave when I was in receipt of no income. I applied for an AMex and got a credit limit off £8100 I just put my old wage so if there was a prob I could show a wage slip or bank statement.
Re the BT I always use Virgin who last time I checked didn't charge for the 1st BT. If you have the money to cover both cards paid into your current account you should be OK but have a look at Martins tips on credit cards there is always a table showing which cards do super balance transfers ( into your account) and which if any have no BT fee.
Hope this helps.0 -
If you put down yourself as unemployed expect to be knocked back!
Banks are more vigilant these days as per the announcement with Barclays annual results that they turn down nearly 50% of Barclaycard applications. Wait a week and if anyone wants confirmation of your new salary then you should have a contract of employment to show your salary.0
