Capital One No Hassle Platinum

in Credit cards
I applied for a Capital One Credit Card, as Martin suggested, for the Identitiy Fraud protection. I didn't intend to use it, as I like the "cash back" provision on my current card. I use cards for convenience and always pay them off in full every month.
I was refused the card on the "evidence" of Equifax.
When I got the copy of my "Credit Rating" it confirmed that I have never had a loan, mortgage, HP, overdraft, debt or financial problem, ever. It also confirmed the status of all the cards I have ever owned as "Settled or Satisfied Account". My total debts were £269, which is the current balance on this month's credit card statement.
I had a Capital One Platinum Card for two or three years but they lapsed the account because I hadn't used it.
Has anyone else had this problem with Equifax and Capital One?

Oddly enough, so have I and it is most frustrating.
I have posted elsewhere in the Credit Card Forums saying that I think that I have shot my bolt by trying to be too clever and Capital One was just one card application too many!
Not exactly in the same financial circumstances as you but I too was wondering why Capital One have turned me down because all they have told me is to check with the two credit refernce agencies they used; Experian & Equifax.0
