FTB Questions?

me and my partner are looking to buy our first house together soon, and were wondering who's the best provider to get a mortgage from?

im 26 and she's 23 and we earn 26,000 p.a. between us and pay out 100.00 per month on a loan over 3 years.

we need to find a 100% mortgage and are looking for around 93,000, does anyone know where's the best place to start?

You'd be best off seeing an IFA (independent financial advisor) rather than trying to do it alone.

They shouldn't charge you a penny for their time and advise (they earn their money via commission when they introduce you to a mortgage lender).

There are so many products available on the market and they change so often that it is definitely best to seek advice.

Is there anyway you can pay off your loan any quicker, as mortgage companies are likely to give you more money if you don't have any debts.

Your absolute best bet is to use an Independent Mortgage Broker that is able to search the whole market for the best deal for you. The lender you choose will depend on entirely what you want from your mortgage.

You will find an one local to you using http://www.unbiased.co.uk/personal-finance/mortgages/ and there are even some that use this board (and the mortgages board). Beware of the mortgage advisors linked to Estate Agents as they are often limited by the number of products they sell, as are high street banks, so check first.

  • thanks for the advice, cant pay the loan off any quicker although we are trying to pay big chunks of it off. do you know where i can find a list of IFA's on the net?
  • I would look on yell.com enter independant finacial adviser and your town. Otherwise you will end up with an advisor in Arbroath and you living in Exeter for example. Or alternatively use London and Country as recommended on this site.

Independant mortgage advisors. I went to see one today and he was great. Within 5 minutes he had a complete list of the best deals for my situation.

With reference to original question, you'd be in a much better position if you save a deposit.
