I have recently used Sellstudentstuff.com to get rid of some old textbooks and thought I would offer some words of warning.
Not only do they take a fair cut of the price at which you sell the books, and most student books cost upwards of £5 to post anyway, they have quite simply the most disastrous customer service imaginable.
I have sold a few books through them, the first few they paid, eventually (some took two months to settle). The most recent book was sold, and received by the buyer, over four months ago. No payment from Sellstudentstuff.com.
So, you would think you could email them to ask them to resolve the payment? Wrong. Their customer service desk is only open four afternoons a week, and this is an online, 24 hour, 7 days a week, web business. They actually stop you messaging their support desk outside of these hours. I have never known anything like it. Can you imagine if your bank only let you log on to your accounts on Wednesday afternoons between 1 and 7pm? That is what this site is like. In the 21st century this kind of customer service is just totally unacceptable.
Sellstudentstuff.com is basically a scam. Sell you books locally if you can, put messages up on the relevant department's notice board in your uni or college. You will make more money back and you wont get caught up in the kafkaesque nightmare that is sell student stuff.
You have been warned.

I'll be graduating this year and the notice for second hand books for sale will go up before Easter. Selling books to the 2nd years is the tried and tested method and how I bought most of mine. Eco friendly and where cash is king !!!! If you want extra cash, Ive just found a spanking new website www.shiftshack.com where you can pick up all sorts of work even 4 cash. Fantastic :beer:0

Is there any official customer support for sellstudentstuff? I still haven't received my money... but I did input my bank details AFTER the book was sold.
Now the website is closed... and probably the company is going defuncted.... .it's been about 3-4 months and I still haven't received my money....
Where can we go to get further help to reclaim our money that is rightfully ours?0 -
