I run a very small seasonal Business with a annual turnover of £35,000, i have banked with the Nat West for over 20years, they charge me a monthly maintenance fee of £10 monthly, (during the winter my account is inactive) i have an overdraft of £2500 of which costs £150 plus other charges for change, checks etc. I am considering switching can anyone recommend a good business account or should i stay put .

We've been with Alliance & Leicester Commercial Bank for about four years now and haven't had any problems to date. They used to do completely free banking but now charge £5 for every month that you don't put £1000 in the account. They don't charge for cheques, etc. They have a linked savings account which used to give a good rate of interest but now .............. well:rolleyes: .

Check out HSBC, I am moving from Alliance&L to HSBC at the moment.

They do a completely free account but I think if you use a lot of cash and cheques you may not qualify. But their normal account is fee free for eighteen months and the monthly fee after that is only £3.15
