I don't know if the Elite package comes with a Data Migration Cable to transfer the contents of one hard drive to another or not, but if it doesn't then you can follow the instructions here to get one. Or you can call Microsoft up.
To retrieve your Xbox Live account, follow these instructions.0 -
well u can get the xbox 360 data migration kit from xbox for free but i hear it takes a few weeks for it to come unfortunately, if u know someone who already has this cable then ask them to borrow it, unfortunately they are selling for over £20 on ebay and u get these cables free.
U can recover your gamertag by going onto the new xbox and signing it and it will download ur account but u wont have ur game saves/maps/downloads etc anymore.
I too bought a new elite the resident evil red one in fact and have held off playing the game until i move everything over
, hopefully get it sorted this week:) 0 -
Actually, downloads should be ok to some extent. Anything bought from Xbox Live Marketplace comes with 2 licenses - a console license and an account license (tied to your Live account/gamertag). When you transfer (recover) your gamertag to a new hard drive, you will also transfer the account licenses if you have any, so you will be able to re-download anything you bought free of charge.well u can get the xbox 360 data migration kit from xbox for free but i hear it takes a few weeks for it to come unfortunately, if u know someone who already has this cable then ask them to borrow it, unfortunately they are selling for over £20 on ebay and u get these cables free.

Obviously, using the transfer cable is better as this will also transfer your console license, but there's another option there if it's needed. The pen is mightier than the sword, and considerably easier to write with.
