Hi all
I am not very good with forums but have been following this one as often as I look for jobs, I have been MSing for 3 months or so, and have to say I am hooked!!! and it is manic at times, but I enjoy it.
Can I ask please, now I have started to do more work, rather than one every now and again, although I have sorted the tax man out, when is the best time to do my return, wait until the year end, or do it several times through the year to avoid paying large amounts at a time. Well, I say large amounts... here's hoping.
Many thanks0 -

Sorry this isn't very useful but it's a question i would like an answer too! I don't know when I should fill in my tax return.
Have a good read of the first post for general advice but I assume you earn over £6,035 from your main job and therefore will pay 20% on your profit... at some point. If your total income is less than £6,035, you’ll pay no tax.
If your total income is more than this, the next £36,000 will be taxed at 20%.
Any earnings higher than £42,035 will be taxed at 40%.0 -

As far as I know you can only fill in your tax return once each year, when the tax office send it to you. Even online it is an annual thing.ilovefreegle.org - give it away don't throw it away0

Keep a running total of how much tax you owe then set it aside in a high interest ( :rotfl:) account and pay next December. No point paying it out till you have to.A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

Was just about to say the same. You can complete your tax return now but you don't have to pay it until 31st January 2010 (for the 2008/9 tax year). You'll probably have had to pay a percentage of your self employed income in advance after completing your last tax return. I think it's usually due in July. I think that depends on how much income you have through self employment and how much tax liability you have.0 -
Could someone be so kind as to answer my query about when ABA-i pay?0
