I applied to TNS about 6 weeks ago, but never heard anything back from them. Can anyone please let me know an email address so that I can ask them about it. Thanks.

Am feeling jealous about the fast pizzas that I can't get to, but given that I have 2 other pizza chains booked in over the next, probably is enough pizzaing for now.

Thanks everyone for the alerts on the cheap fashion stores, managed to get 3 local ones, so a big chunk of my £100 target for May already pencilled in.

I had an email from them yesterday

    Dear Mystery Shopping Applicant

Hey i'm also doing a gap pizza dine in tonight! I was hoping someone could help me out with a few questions please.

Can i order 2 meals for 2 people and will they reimburse both meals?
Also if i order a large pizza do i have to have the stuffed crust/cheesy crust option? as the notes are quite confusing.

    Thanks everyoone!

You can have two people and just have what it says on the notes between you...to share.

Or, you can have two people but you must order your food seperatley and pay seperately. This, IMHO would immediately flag you as a mystery shopper.

Yes you can order 2 meals for 2 people, e.g. 2 pastas. They will reimburse you the set amount, whatever you order.

If you are doing the new style questionnaires, then you can only order the stuffed crust or cheesy bites, if you want a large pizza IMHO. I would recommend the cheesy bites, slightly less stodgy than the stuffed crust, and best accompanied by BBQ sauce (in my kids opinion, in fact they then just eat the sauce and bites). :rotfl:

Oh, so I could order one of the "menu options" that they specify, and an extra starter and pizza (for example) and it'd be ok...wouldn't need to be on different receipts etc etc???

also, why no pineapple?! I'm baffled.

Can understand why no margheritta as that's plain and doesn't give a fair representation of their products.

Also, why not half and half, come to think of it??

It depends on which questionnaire you've got. The old style one (which says that you can't order half and half) specified that you could only order the items that they said, and all other items had to be ordered separately. The new ones (which tell you that you can only have stuffed crust or cheesy bites if you are having a large pizza) don't specify that, and I have been fine ordering extra items.

I think both types are still around, following discussions earlier on the thread about pineapple  (which is banned on the old style report but not on the new one). Hope that helps (or perhaps serves to confuse more ).

Not sure about the pineapple, maybe it burns too easily or the time taken to find and open the tin of pineapple sends their timings out. I think the rationale behind the ban on half & half was about timings too. Happily the last few ones I have done have allowed half & half, which suits us, as what my kids and my OH like on pizza are mutually exclusive.

Mine is a mixture of the two types you've described!!!!

It does say in the "What you need to do" section:

"During this assignment you are permitted to bring other people along and eat as a group. However, it is most important that you only assess the food items ordered for this assignment. There may only be a maximum of 4 people in a group"

BUT, it then goes on to say in the same section a few points further down:

"If other people are joining you, they must order and pay separatley from you or service times will be affected"

    --

It says no half/half, no pineapple, but also says stuffed/cheesy crust only available on large and will cost extra that won't be refunded.

Think you will need to get other people to pay separately then. Maybe say you need separate receipts as you are working away from home and each claiming back separately. Tis a pain though. The new ones are much better!
  • It is quite confusing. Why would they only let you have stuffed crust/cheesy bites on large if they aren't going to reimburse you?! Also if a second person is attending then do they have to have the exact guidlines specified by the notes too, or is it just me that has to follow those rules? Thanks for everyones input
