Well, it does feel like a stealth mission to get jobs from certain sites. In a way its deliciously satisfying to grab jobs, but in another it feels like some form of criminal activity.

There's a part of me that prefers it when the companies allocate jobs to you. Kind of takes the responsibility out of your hands, if you know what I mean.

Or if you've got a rough idea, you could say house and shop? I've guessed before when I've forgotten and it's been ok. I think they only use it as a double check if there's a problem or query.

Try checking out the location on Google Street View, that could help!

There aren't any cookies where I live :(

I'm cheering myself up by playing with my lovely new netbook :D Need to get a router now so I can actually use it online, but I thought it would be a lovely toy and very handy for doing MSing report while not at home! (It can be classed as an expense, right? I don't have a laptop)

Correct - can be classed as an expense - but only up to the value of your profits, if it ends up costing more than you made. If so, you take the rest off the next year's profits. Handy eh? :D

ETA - if any accountants are standing by to correct me on calling it an expense for accounting purposes - I'm keeping it tax-focussed ;)

To class it as an expense for tax, wouldn't you mainly have to have bought it for the business? If you're mainly using it for other things, I don't think the Inland Revenue would be too happy... you could probably claim a proportion though.
    Happy New Year

Oh yeah - I was basing it on IlonRN having bought it for the business. If not 100% for the business, just pro rate it to the business's use.

    Thanks AIY ;)

Well, I've put some music and photo files on there, but it has been bought for my mystery shopping. It's frustrating to have to use bf's pc when I do a weekend job at his house, and I've so far not been able to do any jobs anywhere else because of a lack of laptop.

The fact that I think it's pretty doesn't mean that it's not for the business, does it?

Now I'll just have to make sure that I make enough profit this year to cover the cost :p

Huge thanks for this! Much appreciated :)
  • Ha Ha, showing my age. Used to be old TV advert with Lorraine Chase saying Luton Airport in broad cockney accent.

    Was for Campari, wasn't it?

"Were you truly wafted here from paradise?"

    "Nah mate - Luton Airport!!"

I understood the Lorraine Chase airport gag immediately - I must be old too!!!
