How funny is that - that's exactly the paper I'm doing!
It is a stinker but much better than 5!
See if I knew you were doing CIMA you could have had DH's old CIMA notes, books etc. I think there still in the attic - there old though from 2005 (I think) but if you know anyone who may be interested I could have a look to see if their still there.0 -

I applied to Bare this Thursday and then did my first job with them yesterday.
I am interested to know if anyone is taking up the amazing flight mystery shopper things. i am thinking about putting my name down for Sydney but will just feel a bit weird going all that way alone and without my family. Anyone else going anywhere with them?0 -

I did my first MS on Saturday for Bare which I throughly enjoyed. Have my next one for GRs this coming Saturday and going to spend this week with partner away registering at all sites and getting organised to do as much work as I can.
I am already addicted I think! And a big bonus I got a fantastic gorgeous bag with my make a purchase money. And my level went from a 5 to an 8 so I guess that must be ok??? At least it didnt go lower.
I found the Bare site really really hard to use on the Mac so had to end up using partners work laptop to do my report in the end.0 -
Hi all,
Does anyone know how the scoring system for assignments on Bare works? I just completed one and was awarded a 7 after it was reviewed.
Also, has anyone ever completed a GFK audit for a big household textiles store? I completed one today - what a nightmare!
Id like to know as well please as I got one big of basic feedback about no numbering my comments and got an 8.0 -
Thanks folks. Re: Bare - I hadn't logged into my account to check what the score was out of. I guess 7/10 isn't bad. I was told to number my comments in one section and I had lots of spelling errors. The thing is - I ran a spell check and the errors it threw up were americanisms. Words like organize and apologize. I'd spelt them with an s as opposed to a z. Really don't think that's fair if that's what they have pulled me up on. Also, the expenses on my shop log are showing up as 0.00 when they should be £15. Should I be concerned?!
Finally, as regards the GFK audit; it was awful. It took me 90 minutes to complete and I got interrogated by the manager for pointing out things that weren't what they should have been. It was a nightmare to find things too. Then, on the way out, I had my bag searched in case I'd nicked anything!
I nearly made the same error with the spell check (my first one too). When you go to that screen change the american setting to british english (right hand of that screen) so you have the text in correct British spellings. I didnt number my comments as had not realised I needed to. My expenses should be £20 and are not showing either but I think somewhere in the paperwork it says they get added later??? Can someone confirm this please.0 -
Hi, I've been plodding along doing the odd bit of mystery shopping recently, life has been a bit hectic for too much and I haven't been keeping up with this thread.
I've been keeping careful records for each visit to work out my tax, thanks to the really helpful first few posts on this thread and have a question. If I do a visit to a shop where I am told to buy a few things and I will get £x back for this shopping, and I buy a few extra items (as I need them anyway and I'm within the max spend for the job) can I put the whole amount down for expenses - or just the amount I was reimbursed for? Can anyone help me please? ThanksInitial Mortgage January 2024 - £160,000

I'm not totally sure, but I'd say you probably can put the whole amount down - it's all purchased as part of doing the job, and how could you realistically determine how much of the stuff you bought was part of the job and how much wasn't? When I've done various food jobs and spent over I've always put the full amount down for tax purposes - it will just bring your tax liability down.
But I'm not 100% sure - one of the resident tax [STRIKE]nerds[/STRIKE] experts will be along soon I'm sure!Dan

You're just supposed to put down the reimbursement level as the expense as that was what you needed to spend for the job. Anything else is your choice to spend.
I did a supermarket over the weekend with a £4 reimbursement for groceries, so I've only put the £4 down as an expense even though I spent £26 on general food shopping.
If you could spend anything, it would get into the realms of stupidity - like buying a monthly food shop, load of alcohol and a flat screen TV in the supermarket and putting £1K expenses through your accounts! Here I go again on my own....0 -

As far as I know, you can only claim the amount being reimbursed unless it states what you have to buy and that goes over the reimbursement amount (like a GAP pizza sometimes)
Edit - sorry think I misunderstood your post a bit! If I have £10 to spend in a shop and I spend £11 then I will claim £10, but if it states you must buy a bottle and a choc then I think you can only claim for those things.....I am sure someone with a clearer brain will be able to explain easier than meSealed pot Member target £200 - No. 151
