Samsung NC10 is a good one then it's a close run between the Acer Aspire Ones and the MSI Wind ones which are often branded to other names.

Trusted Review and alatest or good places to compare... Did I mention I have a brand new Samsung NC10 to sell? :p:rotfl:

I was going to buy one or other of those as I'd been looking for a couple of months & they get good reviews, but when the Archos came on with four "easy payments" & all the extras I couldn't resist, though I know the others are probably better. This'll suit me for what I want though.

I'm sure you'll have no problem selling the Samsung!

The wicked side of me has often thought how much fun it would be to have a notebook and go and buy a burger in the fast food place with free wifi, then sit and fill in the report while eating the burger. Can you imagine the look on the staff's faces :rotfl:
I was tempted to do this recently in a pizza place as I had my netbook with me. The service was so bad and I couldn't get attention from any staff so I'm sure they wouldn't even have noticed:D

I did do this for one of my coffee shop jobs a couple of weeks ago.

    The staff didn't have a clue.....................................:D

It was a good report though and I was so far away from them at the counter - if anyone had come near me I would have just closed it.

I don't do the burger ones but I may be tempted to do the one near us now:rotfl:

I went into a burger place today, not on a burger job though, and I sat and used their free wifi on my lappy to complete my pet job. Noone batted an eyelid.

Oh, I've definitely thought of this!
Such a shame I answered one of their questions wrong so can't shop them!:o

I'm on the shortlist for the flights! But a bit confused by the email about dates, as it asks me to give 3 alternatives, but then only gives 2 to pick from. Unless I've read it wrong, hmm. Has anyone else had this email?

    Same here.

I have used the free wifi in <burger shop that may or may not be a client of a MS company> and <pub chain that may or may not be a client of a MS company> a lot for writing up mystery shopping jobs, but I've never actually written up a job whilst in the places I'm visiting!

Regarding laptops, watch out for what operating system they use. A few of the cheaper ones have a form of Linux on them rather than Windows. This is all very well, unless you particularly need it to work with another Windows computer, or just don't like the idea of getting used to another different interface.

Why? So jdan9 has used free wifi in McDonalds and Wetherspoons WHILE NOT MYSTERY SHOPPING THEM - how does this break any T & C?

The only drawback in using free wi-fi while you are actually mystery shopping an outlet is that it is not secure - potentially the staff could read what you are transmitting, and then your cover would be blown for evermore...... :D
