need advice of a thret mad by debt collecting company

:mad: :mad: can anyone advice me please.
some one from a debt collecting agency has just told me they can put a charge against my house for the debt i owe the credit card company.
it wasnt secured against my house at all.
can they do this?
i offerd to make regular payments but they wouldnt accept it,so its of to court ive been told.
well i will only tell the court the same,as i am telling them.
some help please.
