Quick - can I freeze baked beans? (merged thread)

I am goin away for the weekend, and have half a tin of baked beans in a tupperware in the fridge.

I don;t think they'll last till I come back, so can I freeze them? Or do I have to throw them away?

I have to leave the house in 30 mins so quick answers please!!! :rotfl:

    The short answer is YES.

The longer answer is ALSO yes, but decant them from the tin into a suitable container.

Ive often wondered if i could freeze beans and peas but was to scared to ask.Ive been buying the larger tins and throwing half away as it oddly works out cheaper to do that than to buy the smaller tins.I know being on OS and throwing food away will be frowned upon but i never seem to use them again if i store the other half in a tub for the fridge,it was always left for days on end and eventualy thrown away anyway.

I live alone (most of the time) so normally only manage half a tin of baked beans at a time. I always save the other half in the fridge but often don't really fancy eating beans over the next few days but I do so not to waste.

I am assuming that they can be frozen but I am not sure what they would end up like when defrosted. I do like them mushy so that wouldn't be a problem!

Anyone got any freezing beans tips?

    Thanks :)

Just put the other half tin of baked beans in a container and freeze them, I do it all the time. Defrost in room temperature before using for best results.
