cheap sofa throws

hi and morning to all

having been given a lovely two seater and 2 chairs by a mates parents - i think i need throws to cover them, as they are cream and although the covers are washable, i can see DD2 having great fun on them and me having not so much fun washing them every day!

The suite is in the Argos book - Isabelle style, and i have been looking for throws, but it works out quite expensive. Does anyone know where i can get them cheaper?

if you mean throws then try Dunelms.

proper covers are very expensive no matter where you go. Plumbs charge the about same as a new sofa!

When I was younger and didnt have much money I used dust sheets to cover my shabby looking sofas. Not the plastic ones obviously:D but you used to be able to get cream cotton ones. They are quite big so it worked out a cheap way of covering them (and they looked quite good when they were on). I also made some curtains from them.

Following on from above idea, depends how smart you want the throws to look. I used really cheap king size duvet covers, it is possible to find them really cheaply sometimes in Home and Bargain , TJ Hughes etc. I got them in neutral shades. I've got cats, so needed to wash them regularly and they are much quicker to get dry than the heavy cotton throws I had before. They don't look as smart as proper throws, but they do the job, if you just want to protect the sofas while the kids are around!!
