Barclays online banking

Had a frustrating few hours trying to get logged on with Barclays.

Earlier on yesterday I was getting logged on fine, but tried later in the day and coming up against a brick wall. After going through all the pinsentry procedure I click on login and come up with a page which says welcome to barclays online banking with a semi circular menu personal options on one side and business on the other. In the centre at the top is a login option, but have no joy logging on at all.

I rang the online helpdesk but they didn't have any joy getting me on either but did give me a call reference to try again today when someone with more technical knowledge might be able to help.

Just wondered if anyone else has experienced similar?

Experience this occasionally. It's usually an authentication failure on their end (non-fatal). Clear your cookies and offline content (if you use IE) and try later. Clearing your cookies will make sure you get a new session when you return.

    Thanks for the reply.

I'll try that but if I don't get any joy I'll still give them a call. I'll let you know how I get on.

:o All has become clear now.

I caused the problem because I applied for their Golden ISA product but had already had an ISA with them for this tax year. I thought I'd closed it within the 30 days but I hadn't.

A very helpful lady at tech support went through my accounts taking them off one by one to see which one was causing the problem, and it was the Golden ISA. I noticed that the £1 I opened the ISA with was back in my current account. She was even able to see a letter on its way to me informing me I had been a bad lad.

I can now access online banking as normal.
